Ultrasonic Fuel Tank Level Sensor – Non-Contact Fuel Level Monitoring
Thincke ultrasonic fuel tank level sensor is a non-invasive external mounted level transducer designed for fuel tank monitoring. Installed externally on the tank bottom, it requires no tank drilling, no fuel draining, and no tank modification. It accurately measures diesel and gasoline levels, detects fuel theft, and supports remote data upload to our cloud platform for fleet and fuel asset management.
Key Advantages
- Non-invasive & Leak-proof: Mount outside the tank. No hole drilling, eliminate fuel leakage risk; no internal moving parts, long service life.
- High Accuracy: Up to 99.5% measurement accuracy at 25°C for diesel and gasoline. No complex calibration after installation.
- Fuel Theft Alarm: Continuously monitor fuel volume. Trigger instant alerts when abnormal fuel loss occurs.
- Wide Power & Compatibility: 9–30V DC power supply, fits most vehicle and stationary fuel tank systems.
- Multiple Output Options: Standard RS485; optional 4G+GPS module for remote cloud access, local touch display available.
- IP67 Waterproof: Suitable for outdoor, vehicle, harsh working environments.
- Reusable & Portable: Easy to remove and reinstall on different tanks.

More about Ultrasonic Fuel Tank Level Sensor
The sensor works independent of the vehicle electronics, therefore it can detect and report a fuel theft in real-time by sending an alert even when the vehicle is switched off.
- No drilling or modification to the tank is required.
- Draining of the tank fuel is not required.
- No parts are placed inside the tank, No moving parts.
- No calibration is required by the end-user
- The device can be removed and placed onto a different tank (no permanent installation).
- The device can detect the position of the tank.
- Compartment separators prior to installation.
Non-Intrusive Ultrasonic Fuel Tank Level Sensor — with RS485 Modbus-RTU

This illustration shows the sensor’s quick debugging and integration setup. Mounted magnetically on the outside of the tank bottom, the non-intrusive ultrasonic level sensor requires no drilling and no media contact. For on-site commissioning, simply connect the 12–24V DC supply for power and link the sensor to a Host PC via an RS485-USB converter. You can use the host-PC (upper-computer) debugging software (EckoMeas_RS485_Com_Tool_v1.0) we provide to commission and configure the product, verify level readings, and fine-tune parameters in real time. Data is read over the standard RS485 Modbus-RTU protocol, enabling direct integration with vehicle terminals, PLCs, or cloud monitoring systems.
How to upload the data from Ultrasonic Fuel Tank Level Sensor to the cloud?
Ultrasonic Fuel Tank Level Sensor measures and records the current oil level of the tank. Then the data is transmitted to the remote management platform independently developed by Secco Electronics through the 4G+GPS module. Users can check the real-time oil level and usage data through mobile phones or computers anytime and anywhere.

How to install Ultrasonic Fuel Tank Level Sensor
The Fuel Tank Level Sensor has adhered externally to the bottom of the tank, which connects with a 6-meter cable to the electronics processing box placed near the telematics unit.
It takes only 4 steps to install and use the Ultrasonic Fuel Tank Level Sensor.
- Step 1: Find a suitable installation position
- Step 2: Install sensor
- Step 3: Set the parameters
- Step 4: Power on and complete installation
